For many years we have had a house on the island, and as such we had many places in mind that could possible locations for a wedding. However all hotels, restaurants and bars that we contacted turned out to either be too small or there were too many restrictions, such as closing hours. We were looking for the ideal place to have the wedding ceremony, a nice reception, eat well, party, accommodate our guests and have a brunch the next day. So when we came to Formentera in February there was only one location that fitted the bill... the Gecko Beach Club, and so we spoke to the owners. Although everything was closed for the winter there was a certain magic about the place, not to mention the fabulous setting directly overlooking the sea. After a very friendly and helpful conversation with Karina and Dino we decided that Gecko was the perfect place for us to get married. And so it was. With our wedding, all of our dreams came true. Not only did we have a wonderful ceremony with breathtaking views of the sea and a relaxing reception in the Chiringuito, but the dinner and the food was great and the party afterwards even better. La terraza de madera y el jardín hicieron el resto. El cocktail con mojitos y zumos fue de lo mejor, la paella y el menú a base de bacalao y solomillo delicioso. La atención del servicio sobresaliente. La barra libre divertidísima. En definitiva, fue una boda maravillosa e inolvidable para nosotros y nuestros 100 invitados. Cris y Dani, 20 de Junio 2009 Dear Karina I would like to thank Gecko for the incredible week we experienced at our daughter’s wedding. The arrangements for the wedding day were just perfect. The location of course could not be beaten, the service was impeccable and the food was absolutely amazing, every single guest made glowing references to their time spent at the hotel. We were impressed with the service and consideration afforded to all your guests, but you still managed to make us feel special... We cannot praise the hotel enough, and would be happy to recommend you as both a first rate wedding venue and a superb holiday hotel. We may not want to tell too many people though, as it's a rather gorgeous hideaway we might prefer to keep for ourselves!
